Get Yourself A Skincare Routine

Anyone ever have a meme touch their soul? 😂 I turned 35 this year and never once had a skin care routine. I always thought it was a “fountain of youth scam”. Like if it works, everyone would buy it, no? 😬 Well it turns out people DO buy it because it does work 🤦🏼‍♀️ I never got the memo lol

I don’t have especially problematic skin, but obviously time and motherhood has taken its toll. About a month after starting a couple products, I had lots of close friends tell me my skin looked great and ask what I was using 🤷🏼‍♀️ So anyways I’m passing it along. If you’re in the market for starting something...I’ve got a few recommendations that have made a noticeable difference. I could’ve shared a super crappy before photo but I want to keep it realistic. No filter on either photo whatsoever. I chose a before photo I posted to Instagram and a quick selfie I took five minutes ago.

Before I say anything, drinking lots of water is the best thing you can do for yourself. I drink between a half gallon and gallon of water a day. You can’t beat that. Hydrate from inside out.

My top three are:

  1. This TruSkin Vitamin C Serum. I put it all over my face and neck. It’s got about 2000 5star reviews. 1fl oz, which is what I have pictured is $19.99 or you can get 2fl oz for $33.99 with a $2 off coupon.

  2. Laniege Moisture Cream. It’s water based, very lightweight and my god does it make my skin soft and hydrated.

  3. Tula Eye Balm. It’s so good for dark circles and puffy eyes. You can reapply it all day. Has a cooling sensation to it.

If you’re looking to get started, that’s what I would start with. Below is the full list of everything I use.

  1. Tula Cleanser . Its not harsh, so great for sensitive skin.

  2. Trader Joes Rose Water Toner…i dont have a link, but they’re at youre local Trader Joes.

  3. Tula Face Filter. Makes you look air brushed I swear lol Like a walking instagram filter. It’s nuts. I put it on before makeup. Smooths out your skin and a little goes a long way.

  4. This CC cream is also an SPF. Amazing coverage. This is a great deal but if you want to get just one, I found it on Amazon.

  5. Another mineral based SPF I use is also kind of a translucent powder from Supergoop. Right now is 25% with code CELEBRATE. If you don’t want the powder, I also use this sometimes.

That’s it. I mean I haven’t really been wearing any makeup besides mascara, which I know has also been great for my skin. I currently am testing out two other products but I’ll check back in once I’ve used them for a couple months.

The meme that started it all.
